letss start with what is HDTV? HDTV is short for High Definition
Television. It provides similar quality to 35mm films with sound quality
similar to mp3 and discs. It also uses digital signal transmissions
compared to analog. With this you would want a nice resolution for your
HDTV. This is where pixels comes in. 1080p means a resolution equates to
1920 x 1080 pixels, in other words it means 1920 pixels vertical and
1080 pixels horizontal. 1080p is considered the best, some companies
such as LG consider it a super-HDTV.
Now the battle between
plasma and LCD HDTV. Plasma is best during night time, however when the
sunlight comes up it will create a lot of glare. This is where LCD
shines, since they are normally used in bright areas. But plasma has a
higher quality display for dark screens than LCD and a better viewing
angle. On the other hand, LCD has better resolutions. So here are the
final results, I suggest getting LCD since it handles better resolution
and is well suited for fast paced action movies, Blu-ray discs and great
for gaming. So what to buy when comparing prices? If you are getting a
15"-65" screen, LCD is the way to go. Generally LCD offers better
resolution compared to plasma and their prices are always dropping.
